This place was charming. I’ve been here many years ago so this travelogue kind of post is something I have in mind on that few years I went to! Yup, I went there alone and my very first time to backpack ALONE! It was one of the most amazing day of my life! I could really try it again. Sometime!
The husband and I went to Chanthaburi for business meeting. He needs to go to work so of course, I have to be left alone in the hotel. the hotel was charming enough but I need to go check what the city has to offer! So, I decided to just go to this place and hire someone for me to drive and he can just leave me in that place and pick me up a few hours or so. And it went nice! I toured the whole Chanthaburi must see places using the magazine that the hotel gave me.
Here’s the Ao Kung Kraben Mangrove Forest.

A little information.
The shape bay is the name origin. The bay’s mangrove arranged for the development project originated by the King. The natural study route through Ao Kung Kraben’s mangrove forest is the highlight of tourism that story board are provided along the route but too bad it’s in Thai! No English! Well, maybe someday they’ll put up one!;-) It tell as about the history and all about the place. The 1,100 rai area of forest, about 5 kms being extended along the bay’s curve. It’s one of the must visit place around in the Chanthaburi Province. The peaceful surrounding that will be about you and the nature is very refreshing! It’s better to go there around the afternoon as it will not be very hot and you can take sunsets by the bay..Just follow the wooden steps all through but be careful not to get lost.
And some photos while I went ahead and stroll the province!

1 and 2. both were from the Mangrove. It was a huge place and I think there’s not much people around. thinking of that time, I was scared now. lol I might not do it again..haha 3. The blue sky around the province! 4. In a marine zoo I went to visit. I forgot the name. 5. Historical buildings in Sukhapibal Rd. 6.At the mangrove view from the lake! 7. Moi. Not very far from Chaolao Beach’s is Had Kung Viman-Kung Kraben. I guess, it was 20 minutes drive down. 8. Chanthaburi Catholic Church or Wat Maepra Patisonthiniramon. This is located just in the other side of the Chanthaburi river in Sukhapibal Road. It is noted as the largest church in Thailand. Constructed in 1711 to 1742 in a very nice Western Style and Gothic Art form under the management of a French Priest. It has a very colorful glass windows..I say,it’s very pretty!
This is the Hotel where we stayed at for 5 days!
